BÅNE is an easygoing guild that focuses on having fun while progressing through the content. At the moment, our main focus is PvE but we do dabble in PvP every once in awhile. Currently we are doing both 10-man and 25-man raid content. Also, it should be noted that the guild chat may include explicit content and that the guild is not for those who are easily offended.

For those of you who care, here is a brief history of the guild:

• The guild was created by a group of friends a few months after the Akama server was opened
  
• BÅNE started out as a hardcore raiding guild but later evolved into a prominent PvP guild [Pre-BC]
  
• At the end of 2007 a few of the members went their separate ways to create a serious raiding guild [Hi ATW, John, and John! <3]
  
• During the release of BC the guild focused on leveling and raided sporadically
  
• After the release of WOTLK the guild returned their focus back to raiding and here we are today...

Code of Conduct
For the most part, these "rules" are quite basic but for the sake of having it in writing here they are:

1. Keep all personal disputes out of guild chat. If you have an issue with another member or an officer of the guild please whisper them OR contact [in-game mail, whisper, or private chat in ventrilo] an officer to mediate the argument. An officer/gm/admin will warn the member(s) either through whisper [if it is just one person] or through guild chat [if more than one party is involved] to settle it in private. If this is ignored you may be demoted or kicked from the guild depending on the severity of the situation. In other words, keep it fun!

2. Be civil to all members of the guild. We are not here to force you to like everyone in the guild but it does not mean you should belittle them in public [see above]. This does not mean you are unable to jest or be sarcastic! As long as you are not doing it to be demeaning and that it is all in good fun for both members/party, it is fair game. Also, keep all libel and slander remarks to yourself; no one cares if you are able to fabricate a story out of thin air.

3. Respect the officers of the guild. This does not mean you have to worship the ground they walk on, suck-up, or be a walking door mat. This just means you should respect the officer's decision [more than likely this will lean towards the raiding aspect of the guild but may apply to other areas]. Remember, their decisions are based on what would be best for the guild and not for the sole purpose of pleasing everyone. If that were the case than it would be highly unlikely that anything will ever get done. Yes, feelings will get hurt but realize that this is not a one man army and that there are other people in the guild besides you. If you truly believe that you have been wronged then please contact an officer in order to discuss your point of view in a cordial manner. Do not expect kindness if you are just going to point fingers and spew bitterness/anger this does not solve or prove your point!

4. Rude behavior in public is discouraged. While you are sporting the BÅNE guild tag under your name you should attempt to act in a cordial manner outside of guild settings. Having a BÅNE member spewing profanities or just being rude in general not only makes you look bad but it also reflects upon our guild as well.

NOTE: Although members of the guild are encouraged to set a reputable example outside of guild settings [i.e. PUGs, battlegrounds, public settings, et cetera] their independent actions are solely their own responsibility. But if you really have an issue with one our members and you feel you must disclose it then feel free to bring it up with one of our officers.

Loot System
Method: Loot Council/Master Loot

First and foremost, gear distribution is determined according to what would benefit the guild as a whole. In other words, it will most likely go to the person who needs it the most [i.e. the biggest upgrade amongst the raiders after the main tank/healers have been geared]. Other determining factors include how much effort you put into upgrading your gear, being on time, taking the time to read boss strategies, bringing essential materials to the raids, and so forth. Don’t expect to have gear handed to you on a silver platter if you do not put forth the effort. As stated in the Code of Conduct, this is a group effort.

This is just to give you a brief summary of each rank and it also includes contact information for officers and the admin.

Me [GM]: This rank should be self-explanatory. The current position is held by Hucky.

Admin: This is the person you should bug if you run into any problems/have any questions concerning the guild forum or ventrilo.

Anus Inverter [Raid Leaders]: These members have proven to be an asset to the guild by showing exceptional knowledge of their class, being reliable, and by helping other members.

Veteran: These individuals have gone beyond just knowing how to play their class and have illustrated their reliability. This rank also includes old school BÅNE members.

Member
Those members in this rank have shown that they are capable of working well with the guild and that they know how to play their class.

Recruit [Trial Period]
This rank is also self-explanatory.

NOTE: These are just a few traits that officers look for in members. Although you may exemplify the traits in a certain rank the officer's must discuss as a group whether or not you meet the other qualifications. So do not be discouraged if you are not promoted swiftly. Every member of the guild makes a difference and makes the guild who we are today.
